The mountain is calling!

Schuhflicker circular tour - alpine challenge with panoramic reward
This demanding tour is a real challenge for experienced mountain enthusiasts who set off from Dorfgastein to lofty heights. The route offers impressive views, a good dose of thrills and tranquillity in the midst of the alpine mountain world.
From the Fulseck mountain station, the trail initially leads northwards along the ridge to the Arltörl. Continue northwards to the Wetterkreuz and then to the turn-off towards Schuhflicker. This is where the alpine part of the tour begins: the route leads along steep serpentines to the saddle, from where a rope-secured path leads directly to the summit. Concentration is required - especially in wet conditions.
The effort is rewarded: at the top of the summit, a spectacular view opens up over the Gastein Valley - a special moment reserved for summiteers. The way back leads past the idyllic Schuhflickersee lake, where the mountain scenery once again shows itself from its most impressive side.
At the junction, the route continues towards Gasteiner Höhe. After around an hour, you will reach the Steiner Hochalm, from where the trail continues back to Dorfgastein. A stop at the Gipfelstadl Fulseck or the Steiner Hochalm is ideal for anyone who wants to round off the day with a hearty snack.
