Source of life

Every mineral water reflects its origin. Just like our Gasteiner mineral water, its origin is unique.

The Hohe Tauern National Park is Europe’s largest Alpine national park, covering an area of 1,856 km², and is one of the world’s most breathtaking high-mountain landscapes. Located in the heart of the Alps, this wild natural environment is under special protection.

Water is rightly referred to as the “source of life” – after the air we breathe, it is the most essential element for human survival. For us as a mineral water company, this is both a wonderful privilege and a great responsibility: to make mineral water available to people in its original purity. That is why we are committed to protecting and valuing this precious resource in a sustainable way. We actively engage in environmental initiatives, foster regional partnerships and implement numerous social measures to ensure the long-term preservation of this vital natural resource.

For the sake of the environment, we naturally also fill our crystal-clear Gasteiner mineral water in high-quality reusable glass bottles – and for good reason. Refilling returnable glass bottles several times not only reduces the number of disposable containers used, but also minimises the harmful ecological impact of their production and disposal. This is how we at Gasteiner stay true to our nature: we provide unique moments of enjoyment while protecting the environment!

Gasteiner is known for its strong commitment to environmental protection. Not without reason, we have received multiple awards for our work in the areas of climate action, sustainability and ecological responsibility. To consistently continue on this path, we bottle our naturally fresh Gasteiner mineral water in bottles with a high proportion of recycled material. This means that our old bottles are turned into new PET bottles. In this way, we make a valuable contribution to ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy pure moments of vitality in a healthy environment.

Can recycling

At Gasteiner, the environment is at the centre of our actions as our most valuable asset. Whoever enjoys the natural Gasteiner products can do so with a good feeling. The decision to use cans was made deliberately - as a contribution to conserving valuable natural resources. In addition to practical advantages, cans are completely and indefinitely recyclable. The exceptionally high recycling rate of aluminium cans effectively prevents the further accumulation of mountains of waste. At the same time, considerable energy is saved during production - an important step towards preserving nature as a common good for future generations.

Shaped by the unique location and thus the place of origin of our spring, the Hohe Tauern nature reserve, sustainability enjoys a very high priority at Gasteiner and is anchored in all areas of the company.
